Located on the Gregorian Escarpment of the
Great Rift Valley, Kirurumu Tented Lodge enjoys a fantastic
panoramic view over Lake Manyara, the rift floor and Mountain
Losimingori. This rustic lodge, designed to integrate into
the natural ecosystem, is the only owner-run safari camp in
the area.
Accommodation consists of 20 well-spaced,
ecology-sensitive tented rooms, built onto bases made from
local volcanic stone and covered with thatched roofs. Though
quite simple, rooms are functional and complete with en suite
facilities and hot water. There is a nice bar with sun-deck
and a dining room serving great food, rich in fresh fruit,
vegetables and herbs coming from the lodge's organic garden.
The main building and some of the tents have nice view of
the valley below.
Activities include horse riding, Maasai-guided
botanical walks, canoeing, mountain biking, and fly camping
in the surrounding woodlands upon request.
