Located in the pulsing
heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, on a bush-covered
hilltop that overlooks an almost infinite extension of grassland,
the Mara Serena is the perfect base from where to adventure
in a photographic safari. Few other lodges enjoy such a breathtaking
view of the surrounding plains, the same where, from July
to September, the annual wildebeest migration takes place.
Serena's buildings are organized much in
the traditional Maasai-way, that is, in a semicircular cluster
of domed huts that blend in the nearby vegetation. Each one
of the 74 huts is an individual room, all of them with a view
of the savanna; quite large, they are decorated with stone
floors and linen covered beds.
The public areas include a beautiful restaurant-bar
that occupies six mud-coloured domes, three big and three
small, where both international and African fare is served.
There are also a swimming pool, lounge, gift shop, and beauty
salon.
Services: dinners and/or breakfast in the
bush or by the Mara river, private picnics, lunch boxes, full
medical back-up and emergency evacuation facilities, beauty
therapy and massage services, nature walks, bird watching,
balloon safaris and 2 daily game drives in 6-person Land Cruisers
