Located on a tree-packed hilltop just north
of the Seronera valley plains, the Serengeti Serena Lodge
enjoys a nice panoramic view of the endless savana grasslands.
The lodge, drawing inspiration from classical Maasai villages,
consists of clusters of thatched, stone and wood huts, set
amidst groves of native trees.
Each hut contains three rooms, two in the
ground floor and one on the second floor (the latter having
the best views). The 66 total rooms are nice and comfortable,
somewhat luxurious, and feature en-suite stone bathrooms,
wildwood balconies, rope-lashed staircases, and carved furniture.
Guest areas are beautifully furnished with wooden carvings
and safari-style artefacts, though décor can't compare
with the magnificent views from the lounge and restaurant.
Food is excellent, served buffet style. Private Bush Barbecues
can be arranged (minimum of 6 people), as well as safari breakfasts
cooked in the bush and sundowners.
The lodge offers a full range of activities:
daily game drives, early morning wildlife walks in the whereabouts
with the resident naturalist, and balloon safaris followed
by a champagne breakfast at the bush-landing site. Facilities
include a swimming pool, curio shop and internet access.
